UNIVERSAL DRILLING SYSTEM
The universal drilling system is the all-rounder among the DRILL-X drilling systems. It was specially developed for classic building constructions such as roof trusses, drywalls or insulated facades.
METAL DRILLING SYSTEM
The metal drilling system extends the application range of DRILL-X to the industrial and infrastructural sector. It enables fast and controlled penetration of a wide range of metal materials such as transport containers or aircraft cargo holds.
CONCRETE DRILLING SYSTEM
The concrete drilling system was developed for particularly resistant materials and solid building constructions. It reliably penetrates reinforced concrete, brickwork, natural stone or other solid materials.

DRILL-X is the first extinguishing device that combines drilling and extinguishing in a single device. It was developed to efficiently fight hard-to-reach fires without safety risk and without introducing additional oxygen.
DRILL-X can drill through all common building materials: wood, panels, steel, concrete, garage doors, fire doors and similar materials. Practically any enclosed space can be accessed — roof structures, walls (brick, concrete, wood), containers, ships, aircraft and railway cars.
Depending on the fire situation, three different drilling systems can be quickly mounted on DRILL-X. The Type A universal drilling system is suitable for roof trusses, drywalls, insulated facades and similar structures. The Type B metal drilling system is designed for steel with a tensile strength of up to 1 000 MPa, as well as aluminium, copper and similar materials. The Type C concrete drilling system is designed for reinforced concrete, brick masonry, natural stone and similar materials.
A standard C-hose coupling is all that is required to deploy DRILL-X. Because DRILL-X operates with standard low-pressure extinguishing water, no additional pumps or abrasives are required.
DRILL-X is powered exclusively by extinguishing water — from a fire truck, a fire pond with a pump, or a hydrant with a pump. Salt water can also be used; after use, DRILL-X must be flushed with clean fresh water.
DRILL-X delivers up to 800 l/min of water into the fire compartment. The water is atomised into a fine mist, providing extremely high cooling efficiency. CAFS and heavy foam can be added if required.
The operation of DRILL-X is simple and designed for practical use. Once the water supply is established, the device is immediately ready for use and can be operated safely and precisely by a single firefighter. The manually adjustable spray angle allows flexible adaptation to the respective operational situation.

DRILL-X operates at a low pressure of 8–10 bar and is powered by an integrated water turbine. The extinguishing flow rate is up to 800 l/min — without abrasives. DRILL-X connects directly to the fire truck, eliminating the need for additional equipment. There are no maintenance costs, and at 10 kg, the device is ideal for single-person operation.
DRILL-X makes firefighting safer because crews do not have to enter the fire compartment during the acute phase of the fire. Nobody has to enter the danger zone, and the risk of flashover is significantly reduced. Hard-to-reach fires can be fought without direct personal contact — DRILL-X can be operated by a single firefighter.
For a standard cold-roof structure, the average drilling time is 20 seconds.
For solid steel, the average drilling speed is 10 mm/min.
The average cutting speed in reinforced concrete is 20–40 mm/min.
No. PV systems must not be drilled through. The same firefighting regulations apply as for all live electrical installations.
No. To minimize the risk of electric shock and the release of chemicals, a low-risk operational tactic should be chosen — for example, allowing the vehicle to burn out under controlled conditions or flooding it inside a container. This also makes it easier to collect and control contaminated extinguishing water.
DRILL-X is maintenance-free — there are no annual maintenance costs. Only wear and spare parts need to be replaced when required.
